Hi everyone,
Sorry I have been such a slack ass in recent weeks, but I have had an incredibly busy time at work. We had our AGM and European Division Council meeting week before last, and I think I worked about 50 hours or so. We also had our annual dinner - black tie, so I bought myself a tux! No photos yet. Princess Anne was guest of honour and there were about 700 people there, so it was quite an event. Lots happening at work, so hopefully I'll have some news on that front some time next week.
It's been almost 3 months since Fiona and I have been travelling, which will sound silly to those in NZ but it seems like forever for us! But, never fear - we're off to Amsterdam and the Hague over Easter, two weeks today. We're also both making a short trip to France in May, Fiona by herself and me for a two 30th birthdays. Fiona and I have also organised our big holiday for the year and will spend 12 days in Denmark, Norway and Sweden in June. So not much to tell on the travel front.
Back in London, we're had two friends stay a few days with us, Ethan (who I use to work at Parliament with) and Kathryn, whom I have known since primary school and more recently at university. Had really great days with them both; went to the affordable arts fair, National Maritime Museum, went to the British Museum and saw the Lewis Chessmen (for those that know). Other things I've been doing: Brazil v Portugal at Emirates, Got our Visa's!, met up for lunch with Erin who came down from Dublin, went to a play, "Underneath the Lintel," staring Richard Schiff from the West Wing (see photo) and also Les Miserables, Saw "Top Gun" on the big screen at our local cinema, and have been watching loads of sport. Les Mis was absolutely amazing - I really loved it - and tickets were half price for the show we saw on a Wednesday night.
Well, that's about it for now. Apologies for making this so brief but I promise to be much better at blogging and email from now on. Fiona and I are buying a lap top in a month's time, so hopefully you'll hear lots more from us both and we'll be able to upload a few more of our photos etc.
